Our Instructors
Coeur du Lion Fencing Club has held classes and Youth Competitions at On Stage Dance and Drama and Escondido Kung Fu for the last ten years under Head Coach Maestro Lee.
Maestro Lee is a Certified Master of Fencing under the British Academy of Fencing. He has fenced for 30 years and has competed on a national level. He is a former San Diego Division Foil and Epee Champion, and was part of a Pacific Coast Champion Epee team.
Maestro Lee has personally certified April Vihilidal.
Maestro Lee and April Vihilidal’s main goal is to bring fencing to North County and make it available to all interested individuals at any age. Both Lee and Vihilidal now share the desire and the hope to introduce the art of fencing at an early age to the children of North County to promote fencing as both a competitive sport and as an ancient art that can be choreographed for staged performances with exact, proper and skilled technique.
